Please visit our new site for the most up-to-date information www.schoolfeesadvice.org Managing DirectorsDoug Bonnar BSc, PGCE, FPCDoug was educated at Edinburgh University before taking up a teaching role in Edinburgh and then for a further 3 years overseas. He moved back to the UK in 1987 to start a career in financial advice. Joining SFIA 17 years ago, Doug is the longest serving member of SFIA. In the mid nineties significant changes to the charitable status of an associated company resulted in a major transformation of school fees planning strategies and a new SFIA company was formed in 1997 headed up by Doug and fellow managing director Chris Procter. Doug is a fully qualified independent financial adviser and in addition to advising clients he has responsibility for the management, training and development of the nationwide team of specialist advisers. His vision for SFIA is a company that provides school fees solutions whilst maximising its clients long-term wealth by providing expert holistic financial advice. Doug is married with 2 children and both of whom came along shortly before his two major career moves (in 1987 and 1992) - he's not planning on any more children! Chris ProcterChris has spent most of his career in financial services and the majority of that in the school fees planning sector. SFIA is the largest Independent Financial Adviser in the UK that specialise in school fees planning and Chris's aim is to maintain that position and develop it through greater customer service and increased value for money propositions. "SFIA's ambition is the same as it was back in 1952, i.e. to help parents manage their school fee commitments in a tax efficient and cost effective manner." Chris goes on to say "today the major difference is that our clients are of a more discerning nature and expect higher levels of creativity and value in the solutions we provide. We are meeting and exceeding these challenges from many aspects. SFIA today is a highly organised and modern business, but with traditional roots and culture." |
